Graphics
The graphics for FIFA 2001
are beautiful. It's like damn! The first time you see it, it looks incredible.
The green grass looks so real. Even the crowd appears life like. The players
are very well detailed. You even see their hair moving as the wind hits their
faces. The game is very smooth with no flaws. The rain effects are just
spectacular. As the balls hits the grass, you can see the ball splash the
water. When the time of day is night, the lights of the stadium give off its
big, clear ray of light. Or when it's sunny, you see the bright yellow sun and
the dark shadowy ends of a field. You can't say much besides AWESOME.
Sound
The music is pretty cool. It sounds like a fast paced dance
tune and at times, it is pure funk. Hehehehe. You hardly get bored of it
because their are about 12 songs on the game. So your not stuck with one. The
sound of the crowd is very well heard. When you score they get pumped up and if
you foul someone, they get pissed off. You know how it is. You can also hear
chanting and whistles. It is truly awesome.
The commentating is
great. Though at times, whatever the two guys say, it may not make sense. But
that is rare. It hardly ever happens. Not to me atleast. Every time someone
gets a yellow or red card, the referee and the player who was carded starts
fighting. You hear music in the background as if was an action movie.
Sometimes, the referee puts his hands out and tells the player to come. It
seems he is saying "Come on, bring it on". It adds so much life to the game.
Conclusion
If you want a great game, then this is what
you need. It gives good competition and it never gets boring. If you want to
try a new type of sport game, then you should try this. It's very fun to play
and features some really neat features. As for being a "sim" type game, this is
very close to reality. Some things may not seem real because the developers can
only do so much. But other than that, this is a solid game.
