Features
FIFA 2001 offers a variety
of features that make the game so awesome. Let's start out with the main
feature. The ability to have MLS (Major League Soccer), the American league of
soccer and FIFA (Federation of International Football Association) , the main
league used around the world. This has never been seen before. At least I
haven't because I own almost all of the soccer games for Playstation. Other
features included are creating your own player, editing your team, trading
players, and a custom season. The game modes are exhibition, season,
tournaments, training and as said before, your own custom season. The other
cool feature is rain. This really kicks ass. It makes the game more exciting.
In addition, players make more mistakes and fall more often.
Gameplay
Playing this game is so much fun. It's as close to reality
as you can get. From the slide tackles and amazing kicks to the referee busting
out the yellow card for a foul you committed. It is all real! A new addition
that was added to the game is when it comes to giving a card to someone. Before
with other games, if you fouled someone, a little display at the top or bottom
of the screen would show what you got. A red or yellow card. It's different
now. You get to see the ref pull out the card and you usually see the player
who was carded start to argue. It is really cool.
As I noticed with
all the Playstation 2 sport games, you see the faces of the players. I guess
that they tried to match the face of the actual person. I don't know about the
player skills but the appearance is very real.
The controls for this
game are very simple and easy. You can start kicking some major butt in
minutes. Some may feel the game difficult if you have never played a soccer
game. If you have played previous soccer games, then this will be much easier
to play.
