Introduction
I haven't seen a really good truck racing game in a while. I have tried some but they don't quite meet my standards for a good racing game. I have said before that I love racing sims. They're fun as anything. It's even better when you can go off-road and do whatever you want. And that's where it starts. Terminal Reality's 4x4 Evolution is coming your way.

Information
Terminal Reality and its 4x4 Evolution has been released to the two systems to date, the PC and Dreamcast. John O'Keefe, a producer, is a hardcore racing fan. He loves it and can't get enough of it. To give you a quick glimpse of his career, he raced a showroom stock Honda CRX. He raced out at Sears' Point and Laguna Seca. Sweet eh? John O'Keefe says some reasons why this game is going to rock.

"Off-road racing is a very violent experience. It's rough and tumble, and it's very dynamic. Stuff if constantly happening and we wanted to capture the wild, dynamic racing experience that these kinds of vehicles provide. We have paid a lot of attention to the dynamic affects of off road racing. With 4x4 you get the true feeling of real life, constantly rumbling truck racing."

When O'Keefe talked with IGN.com, he stated, "The main inspiration for 4x4 Evolution is the popularity of SUVs and trucks".

Gameplay
4x4 Evolution takes Sports Utility Vehicles to a whole new level. The game allows players to race anywhere on the game's beautiful terrain. You also have a feature of changing the configuration of the truck such as part selection. The level of alterations is 109 different make model combinations. Damn! Players can race straight up steep mountains and over to the other side. Whoohoo! Sounds like fun! In addition, the game features realistic physics, eight fully manufacturer's licensed SUVs, and the ability to drive on dusty, sandy, snowy and muddy terrain.

The game enables players to choose three modes, the deep, single-player Career mode, Quick Race, and Time Attack. The Quick Race mode simple allows you to jump into the game race on any of the open tracks. You can pick from three classes of cars, stock cars, cars with slight modification, and more highly modified cars.

The Career mode is probably the best mode. You have a choice of choosing from 8 licensed manufactured trucks, Chevy, GMC, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, and Dodge. As you play the game, your vehicle is improved and modified.
