Maintaing your PS2

Location of Playstation 2
It is essential that you choose a safe area to put your Playstation 2 system in. This is a simple concept. I've seen people put console systems near a fireplace or on the ground where a baby or animal can run over it and mess it up. I recommend placing your system inside a TV stand where you might keep your DVD player, VCR, and other electronics. Putting the PS2 on top of a television is not very good but it works. Just don't accidently bump it or else you will find yourself with your jaw down to the floor thinking why did I do that. Try not to put the system where direct sunlight can hit it. You never know, it may do something to it.

Keep the PS2 in a cool place. You always want to have it at a room temperature. You minimize any chance of messing it up. It may sound stupid but just consider it.

Keep it clean
A big no no is letting dust build up in your Playstation 2 system. If the dust gets inside of your PS2, then your in trouble. In the long run, it may affect the performance of the system. You know how these days everything is so damn delicate! Dust off your PS2 every week or everyday! Better safe then sorry. I remember the time I installed a chip inside my computer. When I opened the side panel, there was a crap load of dust balls in there. It was horrible. If I'd get a dollar every time I sneezed, I could throw a big ass party.

Eating and drinking
A thing that bugs me is when people drink and spill all over your carpet or floor in some cases. The controller can get wet and then it won't work anymore. This really sounds dumb but it's reality. Many of you have parties or get together with your pals to play and their always has to be food present. If your playing, don't eat! Eat after your done playing. It's amazing how many people have had to trash their systems because of dumb mistakes like these.
